Rent Smart Wales
From the 23rd of November 2015, the Landlord Accreditation Wales scheme will be replaced by new legislation. Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 will require all private landlords who let properties in Wales to register with Rent Smart Wales.
Currently to become accredited you are required to complete a full day classroom course (there are online versions too) and then complete at least 20 hours annually of continual professional development to maintain your accreditation. These hours must then be logged against your registration.
The cut off date for completion of the above is the 23rd of November 2016, those who do not comply will be fined.
Landlords under our full management service need not worry. You are covered under our accreditation but you are still required to complete a one off registration, online currently costing £33.50 or a paper application currently at £80.50. Again this must be completed and your licence number provided to us by the same date.
At The Landlords Letting Company we are offering existing and new landlords the opportunity to come under our umbrella service which will also result in landlords only needing to complete the simple one off registration.
Our umbrella fee just 2% + VAT. This fee covers the following:
- Electronic copies of tenancy agreements and all associated documents and Prescribed information
- Annual gas check reminders
- Rent collection and BACS payments to landlords
- Monthly statements via email
- Annual statements via email
- Free advice and assistance prior, during and post tenancy
